Gallery Help Wanted at Stowe Craft

Gallery Manager

Stowe Craft Design is currently seeking a person to manage our Fine Art & Handmade Furniture Gallery.

We are looking for an experienced individual who enjoys working within a team. This is a full time, year round position located in Stowe village. We offer competitive pay, vacation & other benefits.

Candidates must have experience with art, fine crafts or interior design. Excellent communication skills are a must. He or she should be outgoing, friendly and work well with the public in person, by phone and e-mail. The successful candidate will be well organized, detail oriented and enjoy working independently .

The gallery manager is responsible for achieving goals set with the owner and managing all day-to-day aspects of running the gallery. This will include a variety of activities:

Building relationships in the community through local marketing efforts and
Initiating & developing good working relationship with collectors and new visitors
Representing the Gallery at art events.
Hosting openings exhibits & other special events.
Handling publicity for all gallery-related events
Generating sales that exceed goals.
Maintaining service, display and operational standards
Contributing to the gallery web site & participating in our newsletters & related Internet activities .
Following up with customer requests.

Gallery Associate

We do have an opening for a Part Time fine craft & jewelry Sales Associate. If you have a passion for Fine Craft & Designer Jewelry you may just who we need at Stowe Craft Gallery.

The postion will have a few scheduled days each week and more days when other staff are on vacation or not able to work. The gallery is open 10 am - 6 pm. We do have some flexibility with scheduling days and hours for this position For immediate consideration, please contact us by e-mail

The gallery associate position is the key position in our gallery. Ability to work independently within a team, prioritize activities and great people skills are required daily. The day is spent working with and around fine art, blown glass, jewelry, clothing and furniture. Everything is handmade by contemporary American artisans.

There is a lot going on most days. Helping customers coming in, answering questions about custom orders, getting to know new products arriving, handling phone calls about something seen in the store or on our web site, re arranging displays, letting the buyer know you feel we need this or that. The day goes fast.
