Job Opportunities at Stowe Craft - Design

Since 1978 our mission has been to provide fine craft for homes and businesses. Most all of our staff had an art, craft or retail background before joining us. We are a family oriented business and we go out of our way to accommodate staff schedules and needs. But ... we do have 2 buildings to maintain 7 days a week year round.


Besides sales staff we have buyers, interior designers, inventory specialists, web site specialists and administrative staff. (Some of these are the same people wearing different hats.) Our approach is a team approach, so there are many opportunities for each staff person to influence decisions

 

 

We have no vacancies at this time. However ... we are always interested in finding seasonal and substitute staff for our craft gallery or learning of your interest in being contacted if an opportunity does become available..

 

A typical Day for a
Sales Associate at Stowe Craft

  1. Interacting with visitors in the store throughout the day
  2. Explaining our products and services
  3. Helping customers make selections
  4. Refreshing displays
  5. Cleaning, organizing
  6. Suggesting Gift Ideas
  7. Learning about the new materials or artists which arrived recently.
  8. Talking with artists about custom or special projects
  9. Communicating with customers via phone and email,
  10. Taking and e-mailing photos for customers
  11. Lots of independence within a team
  12. Meeting with staff to decide on new items, artists or displays.

 

These positions expose you to art in many forms all day long. Jewelry is a large portion of Stowe Craft but so is pottery, kaleidoscopes, glass and clothing. This sales associate position blends independence, teamwork and interacting with the public in a fun and active way.
