Tom and Carol Paretti began making kaleidoscopes in the 1970's. Every piece of their kaleidoscopes are made by hand in their studio in Arizona. When they began, their kaleidoscopes were composed mainly of wood. They called their studio, "Working Wood" Kaleidoscopes

Today, their mediums have greatly expanded. They now incorporate leather, feathers, ribbons, anodized aluminum, glass beads, light rods and even cow magnets in their designs.

Unique and Collectable Kaleidoscopes

The most important material, however, in a Paretti scope seems to be imagination. Carol states, "I think our goal is mainly to amuse ourselves with our new ideas. It is extra fun when we are able to share a new idea...It is also exciting to give the viewer free rein to create their own image from the playful items we provide in the object cell."
