Kaleidoscopes in Vermont

Stowe Craft is bursting full of kaleidoscopes. You can find fun and educational kaleidoscope kits, old fashioned kids kaleidoscopes and special one of a kind scopes for collecting.

You are invited to browse our kaleidoscope collection. In our Stowe shop, some visitors spend hours looking and talking with our knowledgeable staff. Here on the web, you will find a lot to look at as well.

A Vermont Kaleidoscope Event

Every July, Stowe Craft hosts an Annual Kaleidoscopes Festival. It's a great time to visit Stowe and be surrounded with kaleidoscope energy. For details, see our special Kaleidoscopes Festival page.

Selecting Kaleidoscopes

Would you like to help finding the best kaleidoscope for yourself or for a special gift? Let us help! We enjoy exploring scope with visitors in the shop and online.

Whether you are a first time kaleidoscope shopper or a seasoned collector, we can help you to find the kaleidoscope with the right look, feel and price for you.

Some artists focus on the artistry outside the kaleidoscope. The appeal of the outside appearance of a kaleidoscope is a legitimate basis for selecting. We have had kaleidoscopes which resembled cameras, flower vases, fountains and keyrings. Kaleidoscopes have been made for the desktop, pocket, purse, free standing on the floor as jewelry and as outdoor sculptures. The size of a kaleidoscope could be few inches in length or several feet long.

Other artists are known for the materials they use. You can find brass, steel, silver, gold, stained glass, paper, wood, and acrylic kaleidoscopes. One favorite kaleidoscope here at Stowe Craft is made of Vermont maple and cherry. It is filled with glass hearts, made - of course- here in Vermont.

Inside the kaleidoscope you find a variety of mirror and optical set-ups. What you see may objects in a dry cell, glass wheels, objects in a liquid cell. The choices are many and the final creation is limited only by each artist's creativity and technical skill with kaleidoscopes.
