My client was turning her mountain home in to a permanent residence and wanted to upgrade. Along with this upgrade, she moved in style from traditional to transitional. She loves when her friends notice her statement pieces. One of my missions was to get her some wow pieces to share with her friends.
I commissioned an artist from Arizona to make a live edge dining table with river rocks running through. After a bit of a search I settled on just the right slab. The river rocks flow through areas where seams and rot have begun to form . They are cleaned out and the rocks are added. When choosing a slab besides size color and thickness, I had to be aware of where the rocks would be flowing. The river rocks are sealed with acyrlic. The wood top is sealed with oil and can be conditioned whenever needed. It will stay beautiful for years.
The rug is custom colored and made in Nepal. The design was chosen for it's boldness and the colors were chosen to lighted up the room and break up the predominance of dark wood on the walls, ceiling and floor.
The chairs, besides being padded upholstered and very comfortable, add more brightness to the room .
Notice the carefully selected chandelier above the table. It was custom made for the area. The metal is cast bronze and the glass handmade. The theme branches is a favoite of my client.
