Acadian Moon by William H. Hays is a 5-color, 17x11 linoleum block, linocut print from a limited edition of 100.
Acadia National park is known for its granite peaks & rocky, woodland beaches. These landmarks are captured with stunning detail in this piece. The attention to the topography of the landscape in this piece creates a very realistic scene. The various tones of blue and red seen in the rocks capture the colors of a moonlit night in Acadia.
“This print addresses one of the finest landscapes in America, Acadia National Park in Maine. I've been there several times and it never disappoints. The starting point for this print is from a trip I took in 2012. It took me five years to get settled on what I wanted to do and this print is one with which I am very pleased." This print was honored with the 2018 Gorst Printmaking Award at the 85th Annual League of NH Craftsmen Fair.” ~ William Hays
